Selank (TP-7, Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) — Research Grade Peptide, ≥98% Purity (HPLC)
Synthetic heptapeptide. Tuftsin analog. GABAergic and immune-neuro modulation research tool. Lyophilized powder. Lot-specific COA included.
Selank, also known as TP-7, is a synthetic heptapeptide with the sequence H-Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro-OH. It was rationally designed as an extended analog of tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), a naturally occurring immunostimulatory tetrapeptide, with a Pro-Gly-Pro tripeptide extension at the C-terminus that confers resistance to enzymatic degradation. The compound was developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and has been registered as a pharmaceutical product in Russia since approximately 2009, where it is approved as an anxiolytic and nootropic agent administered via intranasal spray. It is not FDA-approved in the United States.
Selank’s research profile centers on GABAergic and monoaminergic modulation. Unlike benzodiazepines, which bind GABA-A receptors directly, Selank appears to modulate GABAergic signaling indirectly, potentially explaining its anxiolytic profile without sedation. Research also suggests it influences serotonin and dopamine neurotransmission, and enhances BDNF expression in hippocampal tissue. A separate line of mechanistic research has identified inhibition of enkephalin-degrading enzymes in human serum, which may contribute to its neuromodulatory effects. A 2026 transcriptomic study in a rat tMCAO ischemic stroke model identified 118 differentially expressed genes following Selank administration, with 99 genes downregulated — most of which were upregulated by ischemia alone — demonstrating a compensatory effect on ischemia-induced gene expression disturbances.
Supplied as a sterile-filtered, lyophilized powder for in vitro and preclinical research applications. Each lot is independently verified for purity and identity and ships with a Certificate of Analysis.

An N-acetyl amidated form is also commercially available. Verify the exact form, molecular weight, and purity against the Certificate of Analysis supplied with your lot.
Research applications
Selank is used in laboratory settings to investigate:
-
GABAergic neurotransmission — indirect modulation of the primary inhibitory system in the CNS, with proposed anxiolytic effects without sedation or dependence potential in preclinical models
-
Monoamine system modulation — serotonin and dopamine neurotransmission changes, with documented alterations in serotonin and dopamine metabolite levels in animal studies
-
BDNF and neurotrophic signaling — enhancement of BDNF expression in hippocampal and related brain regions
-
Enkephalin degradation research — inhibition of enkephalin-degrading enzymes in human serum, with selectivity for carboxypeptidases and dicarboxypeptidases
-
Ischemic stroke and neuroprotection — transcriptomic studies in tMCAO rat models showing compensatory regulation of ischemia-induced gene expression, with GSEA revealing activity toward neuroreception and immunity genes
-
Cytokine and immune modulation — effects on cytokine levels under conditions of “social” stress in animal models
-
Adaptive behavior and stress research — studies of Selank and tuftsin family peptides in the regulation of adaptive behavior under stress conditions
-
Analytical method development — LC-MS/MS quantification and reference standard preparation for heptapeptide analysis in biological matrices
Handling and storage
Reconstitute under aseptic conditions using sterile water or an appropriate aqueous buffer. Selank is soluble in water. Aliquot immediately after reconstitution to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Lyophilized powder is stable for up to 2 years at −20 °C under sealed, desiccated, light-protected conditions. Reconstituted solutions should be stored at 2–8 °C and used within 14–21 days. Do not freeze reconstituted solution.
For laboratory use by qualified personnel only.
