Hexarelin Acetate (Examorelin) — Research Grade Peptide, ≥98% Purity (HPLC)
Potent GHRP. GHS-R1a and CD36 agonist. Lyophilized powder. Lot-specific COA included.
Hexarelin acetate, also known as Examorelin, is a synthetic hexapeptide with the sequence H-His-D-2-Me-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH₂. It is a structural analog of GHRP-6, with a substituted (2-Me)Trp residue that confers greater resistance to proteolytic degradation and therefore a longer plasma half-life. The peptide is a potent agonist at the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a) and, uniquely among GHRPs, also binds the scavenger receptor CD36.
Hexarelin’s GH-releasing potency is the highest in the GHRP class. Studies describe it as “stronger than GHRH in releasing GH in vivo,” and its effect on GH secretion exceeds that of GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 in comparative work. However, this potency comes with a distinct profile: hexarelin stimulates cortisol and prolactin more than other GHS peptides, a finding documented in the peer-reviewed literature and noted in safety assessments. This is the single most important specification distinction between hexarelin and ipamorelin, which does not elevate ACTH or cortisol at comparable doses.
The compound also has direct cardiovascular research activity that is independent of GH release. Hexarelin binds CD36, preventing the uptake of oxidized low-density lipoproteins and improving atherosclerotic lesions in animal models. It improves cardiac function in rats after experimental myocardial infarction, and chronic treatment restores voltage-gated sodium channel current kinetics in aged rat skeletal muscle.
Supplied as a sterile-filtered, lyophilized powder for in vitro and preclinical research applications. Each lot is independently verified for purity and identity and ships with a Certificate of Analysis.

Note: Hexarelin is supplied in both free base and acetate salt forms. The acetate form has a molecular formula of C₄₇H₅₈N₁₂O₆ • XC₂H₄O₂. Suppliers list CAS 140703-51-1 for the free base and CAS 208251-52-9 for the acetate. Verify the exact form, molecular weight, and purity against the Certificate of Analysis supplied with your lot. TFA counterion from HPLC purification can account for up to 20% of total weight; peptide content should constitute >80% of the product mass.
Research applications
Hexarelin acetate is used in laboratory settings to investigate:
-
GHS-R1a receptor signaling — activation of the growth hormone secretagogue receptor on anterior pituitary somatotrophs and downstream pulsatile GH release
-
CD36 scavenger receptor research — direct binding of CD36 and prevention of oxidized LDL uptake, a mechanism independent of GHS-R1a activation
-
Cardiovascular research — improvement of cardiac function after experimental myocardial infarction in rats, with effects attributed to both GH-dependent and GH-independent mechanisms
-
Atherosclerosis research — improvement of atherosclerotic lesions via CD36-mediated inhibition of oxidized LDL uptake, one of the earliest steps in fatty streak formation
-
Skeletal muscle aging research — restoration of voltage-gated sodium channel current kinetics and firing capacity of fast-twitch muscle fibers in aged rats after 4 weeks of treatment
-
Obesity and insulin sensitivity research — continuous infusion (10.56 μg/day) in obese MC4RKO mice for 3–4 weeks stimulated pulsatile GH secretion, reduced visceral fat mass, reduced hepatic triglyceride content, and improved insulin sensitivity without altering IGF-1 levels
-
GH/IGF-1 axis research — comparative study with GHRH analogs, since hexarelin is most effective synergistically when studied alongside GHRH
-
Pediatric GH deficiency research — intranasal administration at 60 μg/kg t.i.d. raised and maintained serum IGF-1 in children with familial short stature
-
Analytical method development — LC-MS/MS quantification and reference standard preparation for hexapeptide analysis in biological matrices
Handling and storage
Reconstitute under aseptic conditions using sterile water or an appropriate aqueous buffer. Hexarelin is soluble in DMF, DMSO, ethanol, and PBS. Aliquot immediately after reconstitution to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Lyophilized powder is stable for up to 2 years at −20 °C under sealed, desiccated, light-protected conditions. Reconstituted solutions should be stored at 2–8 °C and used within 14–21 days. Do not freeze reconstituted solution.
For laboratory use by qualified personnel only.
