Epitalon (also known as Epithalon or Epithalone) is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the amino acid sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG) . It was developed based on the amino acid composition of Epithalamin, a bioactive polypeptide extract derived from the bovine pineal gland, and was later confirmed to naturally occur in the pineal gland .
